Todoist’s Task Assist extension is available on the web and desktop apps for Pro and Business subscribers, but not on iOS or Android. It must be added to the account before use. Other AI features have their own platform support, so mobile access to Ramble does not imply mobile Task Assist access.
The newer Todoist Assist overview says its AI providers commit not to train their models on processed data. The linked Task Assist guide still says OpenAI may use input queries to improve models, without explaining how that wording fits the newer commitment. Because model improvement does not necessarily mean training, this review records the scope as unclear and recommends written clarification before submitting sensitive prompts.
Todoist documents a shared monthly allowance of 10 sessions for Ramble and Task Capture Assist on Beginner and Pro Legacy. A session counts when it creates at least one task, and the allowance resets on the first day of the month in UTC. Current Pro and Business access is described as unlimited subject to fair use, so the exact plan matters.
Todoist supports changes to linked tasks and their corresponding calendar events, but it is not unrestricted two-way conversion. Ordinary calendar events are read-only in Todoist, and creating a new event in the Todoist calendar does not create a task. Only one Google or Outlook calendar account can be connected at a time, and changes to individual recurring instances have additional limits.
Todoist says personal projects remain private when you join a team, unless you separately share them. Team projects belong to the team, so moving personal material into that workspace changes its ownership and access context. Keep private tasks in personal projects and review sharing before moving anything into a team.
Todoist’s paid-plan backup downloads exclude completed tasks and archived projects. Standard project CSV export also omits completed tasks; the vendor points to its Google Sheets export extension when completed tasks are needed, with fewer exported attributes. Check those omissions before treating an export as a complete historical archive.
Cancellation and refunds are separate in Todoist. Monthly subscriptions are generally non-refundable, while annual web Pro purchases or renewals have a 30-day refund request window and Business refunds require cancellation plus a request within 30 days. Purchases through app stores follow their documented channel procedures, so check where you originally paid.
TickTick documents habit tracking, a Pomodoro timer and an Eisenhower Matrix, making those workflows a useful reason to evaluate it. Todoist’s reviewed strengths include project-based task organization, calendar connections and optional AI assistance. Compare the relevant tiers and your migration needs rather than assuming either app reproduces the other’s setup.
Things 3 uses one-time purchases for its supported Apple platforms, with separate purchases for different device platforms. It has no Android, Windows or browser version and does not support real-time list sharing. It is therefore worth considering for an individual Apple-only workflow, while those limits matter when replacing cross-platform or shared Todoist projects.
