Verify & Validate Emails Before They Bounce
Grade: B — Score: 80/100
Bouncer employs advanced technology to verify email addresses by checking their syntax, domain, and mailbox status without sending any emails. This process includes a direct conversation with the recipient's mail server, ensuring that the mailbox exists and can receive messages.
The workflow is straightforward: users can import their email lists, verify them in seconds, and export the clean list ready for campaigns. Bouncer also offers features like catch-all resolution and detailed insights on email address characteristics, helping users make informed decisions about their email marketing strategies.
Not verifying email addresses can lead to high bounce rates, damaged sender reputation, and unnecessary costs. Bouncer mitigates these risks by keeping bounce rates under 1%, ensuring that users maintain a healthy email list and optimize their marketing efforts.

Consider switching to NeverBounce: Similar email verification services with different pricing structures.
Bouncer claims more than 99% accuracy, more than 98% coverage, and fewer than 2% unknown results, but no verification service can guarantee delivery for every future message. Its guarantee provides a credit or refund when an address marked deliverable produces an eligible hard bounce within 72 hours. Spam-related outcomes and soft bounces are excluded, so buyers should treat the result as a documented risk assessment rather than an inbox guarantee.
Bouncer documents proprietary catch-all resolution for domains hosted on Google and Microsoft infrastructure. A catch-all or protected address can still return risky or unknown when Bouncer cannot establish a mailbox-level answer. Bouncer does not charge for unknown results, but senders must decide how much risk to accept from the remaining catch-all addresses.
Bouncer verifies ordinary addresses across providers and specifically documents catch-all resolution for domains using Microsoft or Google email infrastructure. That capability can reduce uncertainty for protected business domains, but it is not a promise that every Microsoft or Google mailbox will return deliverable. Buyers should use the returned status, reason, and provider fields together when setting campaign rules.
Bouncer uses deliverable when its checks support sending, risky when the address has conditions such as catch-all behavior or another warning, and undeliverable when it identifies a hard failure. Unknown means Bouncer could not reach a conclusive result, and those results are not charged. The additional score, toxicity, role, disposable-address, provider, and mailbox fields help a team decide whether to keep or suppress borderline contacts.
Bouncer provides a real-time API for one-address checks with a default limit of 1,000 requests per minute. Its documentation says results normally return within 10 seconds and use a 30-second maximum response window. Bouncer also warns that real-time verification usually produces about 5% more unknown results than its full batch process.
Bouncer accepts CSV uploads in its app and supports batch API requests of up to 100,000 addresses, although it recommends batches of 1,000 to 10,000. The vendor claims processing capacity of up to 180,000 addresses per hour and says a 10,000-address list typically finishes within one hour. Results can be retrieved as JSON or CSV and filtered by verification status.
Bouncer publishes native integrations for Mailchimp, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, Klaviyo, GetResponse, Pipedrive, AWeber, Brevo, Constant Contact, and Lemlist, among others. These connections are intended to move contacts into verification and return the results to the marketing or CRM workflow. Teams without a native connector can use Make, Mautic, CSV exchange, or Bouncer's API.
Bouncer is the lower-entry focused verifier, starting at $8 for 1,000 pay-as-you-go credits and providing 100 free checks without a card. ZeroBounce starts its pay-as-you-go table at 2,000 credits for $39 and publishes a broader toolkit that includes spam-trap and abuse-address detection plus deliverability testing. Choose Bouncer for a simpler verification workflow and lower minimum spend, or ZeroBounce when the broader hygiene and testing suite justifies the extra entry cost.
Bouncer's DPA says customer verification data is stored in AWS Frankfurt for up to 60 days and then automatically and permanently deleted. Its GDPR page says uploaded addresses are hashed or anonymized outside the download layer, and customers can request earlier deletion. The batch API also provides a delete operation for submitted emails and results.
Bouncer says its verification platform combines AI, algorithms, and historical data in anonymized form, and another official page says its machine-learning system continually learns from the changing email environment. Its DPA says personal data is processed to provide the service and deleted or anonymized after no more than 60 days, but the reviewed public pages do not clearly say whether customer-derived anonymized data is used for model improvement or whether customers can opt out. The defensible answer is therefore unclear, and buyers with strict AI data-use requirements should obtain a written commitment.
