Generative AI for Creatives.
Grade: A — Score: 95/100
Adobe Firefly leverages advanced machine learning algorithms to generate high-quality images, text effects, and other creative assets, enabling users to produce visually stunning content efficiently.
The platform integrates seamlessly into existing Adobe workflows, allowing users to harness the power of AI without disrupting their creative processes. This integration enhances productivity by providing tools that are intuitive and easy to use.
However, users should be aware of potential risks associated with generative AI, including copyright concerns and the need for careful oversight to ensure the generated content aligns with brand guidelines and ethical standards.

Adobe Firefly covers image, vector, video, audio, Boards, and handoff into Adobe applications, while Midjourney concentrates on image creation and image-to-video animation. In the Czech pricing state used by this review, Firefly Standard is €11.17 per month including VAT with 2,000 credits and unlimited standard image and vector generations; Midjourney Basic is $10 per month with 3.3 Fast GPU hours, while its $30 Standard plan adds unlimited image generation in Relax Mode. Firefly is the stronger fit for Adobe production workflows and documented training provenance, while Midjourney Pro or Mega adds Stealth Mode and unlimited standard-definition video generation in Relax Mode.
Adobe permits commercial use of outputs from Firefly features unless a beta feature explicitly says otherwise. Adobe says its Firefly models are trained on licensed and public-domain content and automatically attaches Content Credentials to qualifying outputs. You remain responsible for deciding whether output from a partner model is suitable for a particular commercial project.
Adobe says it does not train Adobe Firefly or partner generative AI models on customer content. Its Firefly models are trained on licensed material such as Adobe Stock and on public-domain content where copyright has expired. Adobe Stock contributor content may be used under the separate Stock contributor license agreement.
Adobe Firefly credits are shared across the Firefly web app, mobile app, and compatible Adobe applications covered by your plan. They reset each month on the billing date and unused credits do not roll over; premium video, audio, translation, and partner-model features can consume different amounts. After paid-plan credits are exhausted, unlimited standard generative features remain available, and Adobe does not charge for extra credits unless you choose an upgrade or credit add-on.
The Adobe Firefly Video model generates five-second clips by default at 24 frames per second. Partner-model durations vary, with documented options ranging from four to ten seconds depending on the selected model, and Firefly's timeline can combine or trim generated clips. Resolution, aspect ratio, reference-frame, and motion controls also vary by model.
Adobe Firefly provides access to selected models from providers including Google, OpenAI, Kling AI, Black Forest Labs, ElevenLabs, Luma AI, Runway, and Topaz Labs alongside Adobe's own models. The available model, resolution, buyer type, and credit cost can differ by workflow and plan. Adobe identifies when a partner model is being used and says customers must decide whether that model is appropriate for their project.
Adobe Firefly assets can continue into Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom, and Adobe Express workflows rather than ending as isolated downloads. Firefly Boards can send supported generated images and videos into Premiere, while Firefly-powered tools also appear directly in compatible Adobe applications. Generative credits are shared across covered Firefly and Creative Cloud surfaces under the applicable plan.
Adobe Firefly automatically applies Content Credentials to qualifying assets whose pixels are fully generated with Firefly. These tamper-evident metadata records can identify Adobe as issuer, the issue date, the application or device, the AI tool, and general creation or editing actions without adding personal details unless you choose to include them. Credentials are attached to the file and may also be stored in Adobe's Content Credentials cloud so they can be recovered with an inspection tool.
Adobe Firefly is available on iOS and Android as well as the web. The mobile app supports workflows including text-to-image, text-to-video, image-to-video, and Generative Expand, and generated images can be sent to Adobe Express when that app is installed. Feature availability can differ between mobile, web, and desktop Adobe surfaces.
Adobe Firefly can generate vector graphics and edit existing images rather than only creating raster images from scratch. Its documented tools include Text to Vector Graphic, Generative Fill, Generative Expand, image-to-image generation, and Prompt to Edit. Paid Firefly plans list unlimited standard image and vector generations, while premium features and partner models use generative credits.
